Many of you once helped us in transforming a simple building into a beacon of hope, contributing your time, effort, and resources to repair it, purchase equipment, and bring our dream to life. Today, we’re thrilled to let you know that the tennis school not only survived – it is thriving!
Our school is growing, filled with new plans and possibilities. Children and adults alike find a home within its walls, and none of this would have been possible without your incredible support.
To give you the latest news, we reached out to our dear friends – the leaders and administrators of the tennis club in Kyiv. Here’s the inspiring message we received.
“A huge hello to everyone from Kyiv!
We’re overjoyed to share our achievements with all of you, especially those who’ve helped us along the way and continue to support us. We wouldn’t be here without you, as we are still standing thanks to the generosity of sponsors and donations.
We are incredibly proud of how far we’ve come together. Thanks to your support, our project became a reality, and we’ve been able to continue helping children and young athletes grow.
We now have a dedicated team of children who’ve developed into real athletes, and they’ve already begun competing. Some of these children were the first to come to us when our school opened. For them, sport became a lifeline after relocating from Mariupol. Our doors are also open to children who come not just for sports, but for friendship, fun, and social interaction. We welcome every child, whether they’re here for physical training or for enriching educational activities.
We believe that the past four years – two impacted by the pandemic and two by war – have stolen precious time from Ukrainian children. That’s why we’ve created programs that do more than educate. Our masterclasses encourage children to get hands-on, learn new skills, and explore their creativity. Many of the children in these programs come from vulnerable backgrounds – including orphans, low-income families, children with disabilities, or those from difficult home environments.
Here are some numbers we’re proud of:
- In the past year, over 200 children have attended our sports and rehabilitation school.
- We organized three successful shifts of a day camp during the holidays.
- We hosted over 10 tournaments and 50 special events for kids.
- An educational project was launched.
In just the last 10 months, we’ve achieved so much:
- Held three-day camps during school holidays, and we’re preparing for the next one.
- Organized our first professional training camp.
- Hosted 10 unique sports and educational masterclasses.
- Our coaches took 3rd place in the Kyiv Club Championship for adults.
- Our children’s team earned 3rd place out of 21 teams in the children’s league (1st round).
- Celebrated International Table Tennis Day and made it into the TOP 10 participants globally – a massive honour that brought us awards from the main table tennis organization.
- Held four charity sports events for both children and adults.
- Began collaborating with two rehabilitation centres for people with disabilities.
- Formed a partnership with the Invasport Organization, which focuses on high-performance sports for people with disabilities.
- Started working with an organization for the deaf.
Our school has grown from a sports facility into a sports and rehabilitation hub, and that means everything to us. But our challenges continue – we’re constantly seeking funds for materials, transportation, and paying our incredible coaches, who do so much with so little. We dream of doing even more!
